How to reach us
Email hello@akureyriicelandtours.com. We answer in English, usually within two working days.
We are a booking guide, not a tour operator, so we cannot change, cancel or refund a booking. That goes to the operator through the site you booked on, whose contact details are on your confirmation. If you cannot find them, write to us and we will point you to the right place.
If your boat was cancelled, or your pickup never came
A refund or a new date is the operator’s to give. Your confirmation email carries their contact and your booking reference, which is the fastest route. Every tour listed here refunds in full if you cancel at least 24 hours ahead, and the boats offer another date or a refund when the weather stops them.
Meeting points are the commonest thing to go wrong here, because a day can start at the town harbour, the cruise pier, a hotel door or a harbour an hour away. If it happened to you, give the operator the date, the point you were told and the time, in writing, on the same day.
Corrections
If a fact here is wrong or out of date, tell us what and where. Opening hours change, roads close and reopen, and the fastest fix is usually a reader who has just been. Every page carries the date it was last checked.

Where the official information is
Tourist information in town
The town’s tourist information desk is in the Hof Cultural Centre, Strandgata 12, 600 Akureyri, telephone +354 450 1050. It is open 08:00 to 16:00 from June to August, 09:00 to 14:00 in April, May and from September to mid-October, and closed from 16 October to the end of March.
The port
The Port of Akureyri harbour office is at Fiskitangi, telephone +354 460 4200. It publishes the cruise calls and the berths, Oddeyrarbryggja and Tangabryggja.
The lagoons
Forest Lagoon publishes its own prices, hours and shuttle timetable, and sells children’s tickets at the door. Earth Lagoon Mývatn, the former Mývatn Nature Baths, does the same for its pools by the lake.
The roads and the weather
The Icelandic Road and Coastal Administration publishes road conditions and closures, and the Icelandic Met Office publishes the forecast and the aurora forecast. Check both before a day on the road in winter.
